Prerequisites:

Students must be a certified peace officer or active military personnel in good standing with their agency.  Students must be able to provide an agency ID on the first day of class.

There will be a pass/fail physical assessment the morning of the first day of class.  The PT assessment will be based on the Cooper "Singel Cut Point" Standard.

  • 1.5 mile run under 16:28, 300 metter run under 1:11, 25 push-ups under 1:00 and 29 sit-ups under 1:00

STUDENTS WHO FAIL THE PT ASSESSMENT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASS AND WILL NOT GET A REFUND.

This PT Test will occur on 5/26 @ 11am at the listed location - please be ready this day to complete necessary paperwork/PT standard - further instructions for the week will be provided. Students should expect a thorough schedule, multiple sites, and long days. 

Equipment Required:

  • BDU or other similar uniform
  • tactical boots 
  • PT gear and running shoes
  • long sleeve shirt, gloves, helmet, tactical vest, gas mask, body armor, eye and ear protection
  • laptop or note taking material
  • pistol w/3 magazines
  • rifle w/3 magazines
  • pen and paper for note taking
  •  250pistol rounds, 250 rifle rounds
  • force on force gear (mask, blue gun, blue rifle, 50 rounds of marking cartridges for both rifle and pistol)
  • snacks
  • water
  • bug spray

TTPOA and McKinney PD will have some blue guns and blue bolts for SIM rounds but not many.  If your agency has some, please bring them.

Program Overview:

  • The McKinney Police Department Basic SWAT course offers a comprehensive 60-hour training program for law enforcement officers and military personnel. Outcome & Certification:

  • Upon completion, participants receive a certificate of completion, signifying their preparedness for SWAT-related duties.
