Ward began his law enforcement career in 2011 and is currently assigned as a Sergeant in the Patrol Division for his agency.  Ward has served his agency in many different training roles which include field training officer for both the patrol and criminal investigations divisions, less lethal operations, chemical munitions, and firearms training.  Ward became a member of his agency S.W.A.T. Team in 2015 and currently serves the team as a Team Leader responsible for day-to-day operations, training, and recruitment of new team members.  Ward has been a member of his agency S.W.A.T. competition team since 2016 and has competed numerous times through the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association.
