This is a dynamic live fire course that focuses on the individual shield operator's ability to successfully wield a handgun and shield in a reduced illumination environment. This course will present drills to help build efficiency and economy of motion needed to successfully move through low light environments. Both weapon mounted lights/laser and shield mounted options will be explored. Working with a partner or pair work will also be explored as the class progresses throughout the day.

The ballistic shield can offer increased protection which in turn gives the end user additional time to deal with quickly unfolding exigent circumstances.

The majority of lethal force engagements in law enforcement occur during the hours between sunset to sunrise at close distances. Our instructors have also designed drills to enforce proper spacing,footwork,shield placement and weapons handling at locations where officer's are being targeted ie. front door, doorways, hallways etc.
