Course Overview:
This comprehensive 16-hour course is designed specifically for police officers to enhance their defensive tactics and self-defense firearm skills. The training is split over two days, with each day consisting of 4 hours of defensive tactics and 4 hours of basic self-defense pistol shooting. Participants will build confidence in handling physical confrontations and sharpen their proficiency with firearms.
Day 1:
7:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Defensive Tactics
Focus on de-escalation techniques, close-quarter defense, control holds, and dominant position. Participants will learn to safely neutralize threats while minimizing injury to themselves and suspects. Because you cant shoot everyone!
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Basic Self-Defense Pistol Shooting
We will teach you our preferred shooting methods, and explain why we do things the way we do. You will learn to properly draw, shoot, and reload your gun.
Day 2:
7:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Defensive Tactics (Advanced)
Building on the previous day, this session will introduce more advanced defensive tactics, focusing on weapon retention, weapon disarming, and team-based strategies.
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Basic Self-Defense Pistol Shooting (Applied Scenarios)
Officers will apply their shooting fundamentals to dynamic self-defense drills, emphasizing accuracy and speed in stressful situations. Participants will also engage in live-fire exercises simulating high-pressure encounters.

Requirements:
Participants must bring duty equipment, including their service pistol and appropriate training attire for physical activity. A training pistol is recommended for the DT portion.
Clothing and Gear Required:
2 pairs of durable pants and 2 comfortable shirts
Rain Jacket- the event will go forward regardless of the weather
Electronic Hearing Protection (to receive instruction while on the firing line)
Extra batteries for hearing protection and optic
Protective eyewear
Baseball cap or another hat with a brim
Notebook
Pen
Food / Water:
Our lunch breaks will be short, so you might want to bring MREs, "sack lunches" or something that you can carry with you that does not require any preparation
Bring any other snacks you desire
Bring some bottles of water or a refillable container to stay hydrated during the training days
Please, do not drink alcohol the day/night before training, or during the course in between classes.
Firearm and Accessories:
Pistol
3-4 magazines for each weapon system
Dummy Rounds X 5 for each weapon system
Retention Holsters (your holster preferably will be made of Kydex which is form-fitted to your pistol. If you use nylon or leather holsters you will need to have a thumb break or some form of retention. If you show up without a proper holster you will have to do all drills off the table. No Blackhawk Serpa holsters allowed.)
Magazine pouches for each weapon system
Handcuffs with keys
Protective gear (armor and helmet) if desired
Weapons cleaning and maintenance equipment:
Optic preferred (backup sights for optic)
Lubrication
400 rounds of Pistol ammunition
