Course Description

Tripod and positional shooting is a three-day course designed for Law Enforcement personnel assigned to, or supporting, precision rifle operations. It is a fundamentals-driven course focused on developing the individual shooter's ability to build reliable, repeatable shooting positions commonly encountered during real-world deployments. Instruction emphasizes application of marksmanship fundamentals, efficient position construction, accuracy, and recoil management. Students will learn to deploy tripods, use barricades and other natural or man-made terrain features to build stable shooting platforms while maintaining precision, stability, and shot accountability. This course is performance-based and focused on skill development rather than speed-driven drills or equipment demonstrations.
