Kolton has served on the Lubbock Police Department since 2015 and has been a member of LPD's part-time SWAT team since 2018. Kolton has experience working in various specialized units inluding Gangs, Violent Crimes, Vice and Crime Suppression, but he is currently assigned as full-time range/training staff at the LPD Academy. He is a certified and experienced instructor in many disciplines including, but not limited to Sniper, Firearms, Red Dot, CQB, NVG, Ballistic Shield, Combatives (EFC), Active Shooter Response, Less Lethal, Distraction Device and Chemical Agent. Kolton is one of the lead instructors for In Extremis Performance and is also an adjunct instructor for ALERRT. He is an accomplished competitve shooter with many top placements in various types of matches such as USPSA, LE multi-gun, precision carbine, sniper/precision rifle and SWAT competitions. Kolton holds a Master classification in USPSA and he is a 4X winner of the TTPOA Sniper Challenge. He regularly travels nationally and internationally to teach dynamic shooting courses to federal, state and local tactical units.
