XMTG Firearms Training Academy is located east of Dallas, Texas in Scurry.  We provide training to Law Enforcement, Military, Security, as well as the responsible citizen.  

We specialize in precision rifle and carbine training but we also conduct handgun training as well.  Most of our training takes place at our private range located in Kaufman county.  We have two structures at our range that our precision rifle and scoped carbine classes utilize to engage targets on our long range and short range.  Our long range has steel targets every 100 yards out to 1360 yards.  Our short range has various targets out to 300 yards.  We also have a pistol and carbine bay to be utilized during our training courses.  

XMTG was founded by James Ferguson.  James retired from the Mesquite Police Department in Texas with a little over 30 years of service.  James spent the majority of his Career serving as a Tactical Officer and a Firearms Instructor.  During his time in police work, James worked as a Patrol Officer, Background Investigator, Entry Team Member, Sniper Team Member, Sniper Team Leader, Firearms Instructor, Range Master, Tactical Supervisor, C.I.D. Supervisor, and Agency Training Coordinator.  James has logged thousands of hours training academy classes, in-service classes, sniper/counter sniper classes, and civilians in the use of firearms and tactics.
