Prerequisites

First day of class will be at the Brownsville Police Department main station located at 600 E. Jackson Street, Brownsville, Texas 78520.  Show up no later than 6:45 to have time to stretch because the Copper Standard Test will be given at 7:00 am.  

Students must be a certified peace officer or active military personnel in good standing with their agency.  Students must be able to provide an agency ID on the first day of class.

There will be a pass/fail physical assessment the morning of the first day of class.  The PT assessment will be based on the Cooper "Singel Cut Point" Standard.

1.5 mile run under 16:28, 300 metter run under 1:11, 25 push-ups under 1:00 and 29 sit-ups under 1:00

STUDENTS WHO FIAL THE PT ASSESSMENT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASS AND WILL NOT GET A REFUND.

Equipment Required

• BDU or other similar uniform
• tactical boots (x2)
• PT gear and running shoes
• long sleeve shirt, gloves, helmet, tactical vest, gas mask, body armor, eye and ear protection
• laptop
• pistol w/3 magazines
• rifle w/3 magazines
• pen and paper for note taking
•  800 pistol rounds, 800 rifle rounds
• force on force gear (mask, blue gun, blue rifle, 50 rounds of marking cartridges for both rifle and pistol)
• snacks
• water
• bug spray

TTPOA and Brownsville PD will have some blue guns and blue bolts for SIM rounds but not many.  If your agency has some, please bring them.
