LE Sniper Team Leader Course

Course Description

3-day 30-hour course. This is a law enforcement course designed to break through the institutional inertia that LE sniper teams and sniper team leaders face. This course will assist team leaders in sustaining their current programs, adjusting their training needs, maintaining documentation, proper gear selection and selling your sniper teams abilities to support any and ALL missions. This course is designed for full and part-time SWAT/Sniper Teams.

Topics covered in the course include;

Mission of the Police sniper
Selection Process for potential snipers.
How to record and maintain sniper training/deployment records
Training programs
Exposure to Qualification Courses ans Sniper shooting drills
How to develop a sniper qualification course.
Implementing specialized sniper training into your program
Weapons, Scopes, and Ammo selection.
SOPs for various Sniper related items such as offsite live fire training set up and specialized weapons.

If possible, we will conduct an actual live fire ballistic gel test for your current ammo and comparison with others.
Students will develop and demonstrate a precision rifle qualification according to their agency/state standards.
Students will conduct planning Sniper overwatch missions for large scale events, UC operations other sniper related support.
Develop a Sniper training calendar.

NOTE: Students will receive real data (in digital format) and documents concerning purchases, training and justification on all items and more pertaining to LE snipers.

Gear List;

Assigned Sniper Rifle capable of 1 MOA groups @ 100 yds

150 rounds of rifle ammo

Rear Bag/Rangefinder/Binocular/Spotting Scope

Data Book

Appropriate Range Attire

Eye and Ear Protection

Tripod (incorporate into a sniper qual/drills) (Tripods available for traveling students)

Plain Clothes for conducting urban reconnaissance mission planning

Laptop/thumb drive (required)

Notebook/pen

Food/water

Sunscreen

Full sniper deployment gear NOT required (ie. body armor, packs, ghillie etc.)
