The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a 5 day, 50 hour, advanced sniper course February 22-26, 2027 in the Fort Worth area. The course will build upon the fundamentals taught in basic sniper school and focus on advanced techniques relevant to everyday sniper deployments.
This course is led by TCSO Sniper Team Leader Barrett Travis along with other cadre from the DFW area. These instructors bring nearly 50 years of combined experience from law enforcement, military, and competitive shooting to the table. This course will be heavily focused on multiple repetitions in every area to ensure students get maximum exposure to every block of instruction. This is a certification course that will involve a skills assessment and written exam at the end of the week. This course is designed to test the students’ physical and mental capabilities and will require them to not only be doers, but thinkers also.
