Tracy is an Honorably Retired Texas Peace Officer with 30 years law enforcement experience, having served with the TX OAG Law Enforcement Division, Chief of Police for the City of Bertram Texas and the Enforcement Division of Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

Tracy retired from the Abilene Police Department as a Lt. While in Abilene he served as the Perimeter and Entry Team leader and Tactical Commander. He is certified to instruct Basic Firearms, Impact Munitions, Low Light CQB, EVOC and served as instructor with the ALERRT Center for both the basic and Train the Trainer classes for 12 years.  Tracy holds a Firearms and Patrol Rifle Instructor Certificate with TCOLE. 

Tracy earned an BBA from Hardin Simmons University and has completed Leadership Command College in 2000 and attended the FBI National Academy, Session 213.  He is an United States Air Force veteran, serving over 10 years prior to entering law enfocement.
