Graham Smith Bio

Graham served the Irving Police Department from 1990 - 2023. He worked in the Patrol Div, Gang Unit and in 2001 he transferred to the Tactical Unit/SWAT where he served full-time for 18 years.  He retired from Irving PD 2023, after serving 22 years as a SWAT Team Leader and Asst. Team Commander.  Graham currently works for Celina Police Department and is the Training Manager and Asst. Team Commander for the department's Tactical Services Team.

In 2024, he began working as an Adjunct Professor for Texas A&M University - Commerce's Criminal Justice Competancy Based degree program.  

He holds a MS-Criminology (Admin. and Mangement) and BS-Criminal Justice from Texas A&M Univ. Commerce. Holds a Master Peace Officer Certification in the state of Texas. Instructor for TTPOA and NTOA.  Completed TTPOA Basic and Advanced Swat Schools, FBI Basic SWAT School. Certified TTPOA Tactical Rifle Instructor, CRTC Urban Tactical Rifle Instructor, AR-15 & M-16 Colt Armorer, TTPOA Explosive Breacher, TCOLE Instructor and Firearms Instructor, Ballistic Shield Instructor, Def-Tec :Less Lethal, Chemical Munitions, NFDD, O.C. Instructor.
