Ed retired from the FBI in 2018 having spent 22 years as a Special Agent assigned to the Boston Field Office. During his FBI career, Ed was involved in many high-profile investigations including the 9/11 Terror Attacks (PENTBOMB), the 2010 attempted Times Square Bombing, and the 2013 bombing of the Boston Marathon (BOSBOMB). Ed has 20 years’ experience in the FBI Tactical Section as a member of the FBI Boston SWAT team and served as the Senior Team Leader prior to his retirement. He participated in numerous high-risk, security, and training operations throughout the United States and overseas. During his FBI career, Ed received certifications as an FBI SWAT Senior Team Leader, FBI SWAT Operator, FBI Observer/Sniper, FBI Firearms Instructor, FBI Tactical Instructor, Chemical Agent Instructor, and an Active Shooter Instructor. Ed also served five years in the US Navy with assignments to domestic and overseas duty stations. In addition, Ed has been a firearms and tactics instructor for more than 25 years and brings his experience and expertise to each course he teaches.
