Vann began his law enforcement career in 2010 at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, where he is still serving as a member of the Patrol Division.  Vann has been a member of the S.W.A.T. team for twelve years and has served as a member of the entry and sniper teams.  Vann helps plan and run S.W.A.T. training as well as training for the department as a whole and has coordinated and instructed TTPOA Basic and Advanced Sniper courses for several years.  Vann has recently taken on the role of conducting vulnerability assessments for the department and received certification in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).  Vann graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.
