The course is only open to active LE members (who have graduated from a Basic SWAT course). 

The TTPOA will be hosting a 50-hour Advanced SWAT Course from January 12-16, 2026, in the San Antonio area.  The course will be instructed by San Antonio PD SWAT and Bexar County SO SWAT.

Day 1 is the livefire portion of the class and will begin at 0800 Monday morning, at the Bexar County Firearms Training Center.  

Please bring all live ammo and gear on Day 1.

This course will cover

• Firearms
• Stronghold Hostage Rescue
• Vehicle Assault / Hostage Rescue
• Bus Assault / Hostage Rescue
• Day 5 will be a scenario

Prerequisites

• Must have completed a Basic SWAT Course. 
• Certified to carry a patrol rifle.

Required Equipment

• Tactical equipment to include BDU uniform, body armor, plate carriers, helmet, eye and ear protection, gas mask, gloves, knee and elbow pads, handgun, and rifle.
• Simunition bolts and pistols with 200 Simunition rounds.
• Live Ammo:  Min. 500 rounds of Rifle/M4 and 500 rounds of pistol.
