Whether you are currently responsible for or are anticipating the need for a crowd management option, this course should be the foundation of your program. Featuring experiences from acts of civil disorder to large-scale riots, this 3-day course develops the line officer and supervisors for the complex challenges they will face during these dynamic events. Defense Technology Training uses a multi phased-ed approach, which includes core skill development, prior event analysis, decision building drills, policy and legal review, training protocols, and supervision aspects for operating such a team. Topics include mass arrest procedures, the use of riot shields and riot batons, protest strategies, legal considerations, arrest team training, and the use of less lethal options. Students will receive an instructor’s certificate in crowd control tactics as well as an operator’s certificate as a less lethal operator.
