Hostage rescue is the most dangerous operations law enforcement officers will face. With proper planning and tactics, the risk can be significantly reduced. The course will go into all aspects of elements needed for a successful Hostage Rescue. The preliminary schedule is below. The venues will be in the Houston area TBD.

 Day 1 will begin with the most critical aspect, operational planning. Followed by breakout sessions of the three main specialties within the team (breaching/sniper/medical).

Day 2 will be a review of CQB concepts and principles.

Day 3 will focus on using darkness as an advantage utilizing NVGs.

Day 4 will focus on the breaching aspect of the operation. This may include high energy breaching of doors/walls, manual and shotgun. 

Day 5 will be consisting of it all together with multiple complex scenarios that will require planning, coordinating, breaching, medical. This is not an introductory course therefore students are required to have baseline understanding of CQB and preferred one of the three specialties skills.

This course will focus on hostage rescue tactics. Students will receive practical application for conducting HR both as a dynamic rescue team and a deliberate rescue team. All students should have a basic knowledge of CQB prior to attending this course. This course will have a PowerPoint classroom and practical portion.

• Emergency rescue

• Sniper initiated rescue

• Explosive breaching to include doors and walls

• Break and rake teams

• Command post operations

• Electronic equipment – intelligence gathering

• NFDD deployments, HEB considerations on breach points 

• Force on Force scenarios
Required Equipment

• Tac vest and helmet ***NVG Equipment, and an aiming device PEQ15, MAWL etc***

• Tac belt with rifle and simunition pistol

• Primary weapon (Rifle) and a Simunition upper (bolt)

• NFDD bodies (flash bang bodies)

• Eye and ear protection

• Long sleeve shirt and gloves

• Sims protection

• 350 simunition rounds pistol 

• 350 simunition rounds rifle

These instructors teaching this course have extensive training in Hostage Rescue and have been assigned to a full time SWAT team collectively over 25 years. These instructors have had numerous real world Hostage Rescue operations and have had the oppurtunity to train with several entities overseas and locally.
