Blast Through Glass for LE Snipers

This course is designed for LE snipers to gain confidence in their abilities by obtaining a better understanding in how their specific round performs when shot through barriers. We understand that not every agency has the luxury of having this type of training; however, it is extremely important for all snipers to have this training. This course will dispel myths you may have heard about shooting through intermediate barriers and confirm the need for barrier rounds. Knowing how our round reacts when hitting any intermediate barrier is essential.

Topics Covered:
- Internal, External, and Terminal Ballistics
- Ammo selection and round composition
- Different types of glass
- How glass is made
- Shooting through glass
- Shooting through many other types of barriers
- Ballistic gel demo

Required Gear:
- Precision rifle (.308, 6.5, or 5.56)
- Tripod (if you don’t have one, we will have loaners)
- Ear and eye protection
- Long sleeve shirt (we will be shooting some glass at close range)
- Plenty of water
- Food/snacks
- Data book/notepad

Ammo:
- 20 rounds of open air
- 20 rounds of barrier rounds
- This is not a high speed, high round count class. This is about data collection.
- If your agency does not utilize a barrier round, come anyway and see why they are essential.
