Course Overview

TTPOA will be hosting a 3-Day Course on the utilization of drones in the tactical world. Over the past years, the use of drones has increased and shown to be a valuable resource for public safety. Tactical teams continue to incorporate this technology when conducting various high risk operations.

Topics Covered

This training will cover the essential skills and techniques for deploying drones in dynamic environments, focusing on reconnaissance, surveillance, and advanced operational strategies. Students will engage in hands-on exercises, scenario-based training, Some of the topics to be covered include:

•           Program Development
•           Policy Building
•           Part 107 and How It Applies to TacOps
•           Equipment Selection
•           Intelligence Gathering Prior To & During Operations
•           Techniques in Interior Clearing
•           Exterior Operations

This is NOT intended to be a beginner course or certification course. Students are expected to have some general knowledge of flying a drone as there will be an emphasis on skill building, particularly indoor flying.

Pre-Requesites & Equipment Needs

•      Part 107 or COA Certification from Department
•      Outdoor and/or indoor drone from reputable manufacturer. If lacking one or the other, contact POC.
•      4 Batteries Minimum w/ power supply or recharge capabilities
•      Extra/replacement propellers
•      Eye Protection
•      Work in conjunction with tactical team recommended but not required
