Instructor Bio:
Marco Lopez has devoted 27 years to law enforcement, showcasing his versatility and commitment across various roles. Starting in the patrol division and patrol tactical unit, he transitioned to the investigative division, where he developed deep expertise in criminal investigations, until transferring to the SWAT Detail.
For over 18 years, Marco has been a dedicated member of the SWAT team, serving as an assaulter, team leader, and now sergeant. Throughout his career, he has been involved in numerous critical incidents and special threat situations, and has participated in many warrant operations, demonstrating his tactical prowess and leadership. Marco was promoted to the rank of sergeant and was part of a team that started a new tactical unit to support investigators, where he was involved in the selection process, training, and overseeing day-to-day operations.
Since 2009, Marco has played a pivotal role in the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association (TTPOA). His dedication to advancing tactical law enforcement practices has led him to take on various roles, including Conference Coordinator, Regional Director, Director of Operations, and currently, Vice President of the TTPOA.
Marco Lopez's extensive experience, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence have significantly contributed to the success and advancement of the teams he leads and the broader law enforcement community.
COURSE INFO:
This course is in a classroom setting and is designed to provide officers with information on how to plan a high-risk warrant.
While the course is primarily intended for SWAT officers, it will also benefit officers from other tactical units who may need to develop tactical plans in support of investigations.
The course will train officers in the elements of high-risk warrant service, covering topics such as information/intelligence gathering, target reconnaissance, diversion and breaching, and methods of warrant service.
Additionally, the course will explain the advantages and disadvantages of dynamic entry versus slow and deliberate clearing methods. It will also discuss limited penetration, breach, and hold, as well as contain and call-out methods.
