Course Description:

Our LE Only Diminished Environment course is designed with our everyday operating environment in mind. This course exposes shooters to various lighting conditions and the understanding of how to read lighting conditions and employ proper lighting techniques properly. Students will see and understand the importance of choosing the correct gear, and students' decision-making will be tested in various low light/no light conditions. Multiple shooting drills and scenarios will help students reduce their reaction time, enhance decision-making and accuracy, and overall confidence in their ability and weapon system in Diminished Environments.

Instructor Bio

William Jackson is the Owner and Lead Instructor of Gladiator Gunz Training Group LLC. As a 20-year veteran, he spent most of his career with the 82nd Airborne Division as an Infantry Medic and CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives) Officer. William has completed multiple combat deployments to different theaters in support of various international and domestic units. After retiring, he earned his second master's degree in Disaster and Emergency Management from Georgetown University. For the past ten years, he has worked for the Department of Defense as an Emergency Preparedness & Response Specialist and LE Instructor. Currently, William is a senior member of FEMA's SLTT Section within the National Exercise Division. This division aims to design, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate exercises at the SLTT level, rigorously testing the nation's ability to perform missions and functions to prevent, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.
 
Will is passionate about equipping and preparing his students with both physical skills and the mental agility needed to perform and use the concepts taught in real-world scenarios. Remaining a student of his craft, he regularly competes in USPA/IDPA matches. To ensure the course content is of the highest quality and consistently up-to-date, William trains with top instructors in various fields, including CQB, TCCC, and Threat Assessment.

Carbine with a weapon mounted light

EDC or Battle Belt with appendix or strong side holster

Handheld light

1 pistol and 1 carbine Magazine Holder (minimum)

IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit)

300 rounds of carbine ammunition and 300 rounds of pistol ammunition (minimum). No Steel Core

3 pistol magazines and 3 carbine magazines  (minimum)

Appropriate clothing for training

Knee pads, Elbow Pads,  (optional, but recommended)

Clear eye protection, hearing protection (electronic recommended), and a baseball cap

Food & Water

Not Allowed

Serpa holsters or similar holsters that use the trigger finger to deactivate a retention device are NOT allowed.
