Course Details:
The TTPOA, in conjunction with the Garland Police Department, will offer this 40-hour TCLEOSE accredited course in Garland, Texas. This course is intended to provide the student with the skills and knowledge required too build a breaching program. Upon successful completion of this course the student will have demonstrated the ability to safely and responsibly build, deploy and document an explosive breaching charge.

Lt. C. T. Payne has been with the Garland Police Department since 1984. Lt. Payne was trained as a Bomb Technician in 1995 and began the explosive breaching program for Garland Police Department in 1996. He has attended both TEES and REST basic explosive entry courses. Lt. Payne has conducted several hundred training and experimental breaches along with four operational breaches.

Prerequisites
Students must be a certified military, correctional, or peace officer, in good standing with their agency. Students must be in good physical condition. Students must not have an irrational fear of explosives.
 
Required Equipment

 

Students will need all the tactical gear their agency requires. Mandatory equipment includes a ballistic vest, ballistic helmet, eye protection, hearing protection, long sleeve shirt and gloves. Leather boots and non-static producing (cotton) clothing will be required on Monday. The course will be conducted out doors and students need to bring suitable clothing for seasonal conditions

The fee for the course is $500 for TTPOA members and $550 for non-members. All fees are due by March 4, 2013. There will be no refunds for cancellations after March 4th, 2013. Class size is limited. Course dates March 11th-15th, 2013

This course will be conducted at 1891 Forest Lane Garland, TX. Students will be required to provide transportation to the site for themselves and their gear. Class will start at 0800hrs March 11, 2013.
