Course Details:

TTPOA Region 7 and Hardwired Tacical Shooting  ( HiTS) is proud to announce their 2 day First Reponder Pistol Course in Forney, Tx.  This class is a comprehensive, intensively fundamental and professionally relevant presentation for the use of the service pistol in self-defense and law enforcement service.  This training will be appropriate for the law enforcement officer/trainer who desires to enhance their level of professional knowledge and competence with their duty pistol.


Class will be bgin at Forney PD range at 0800 on 04/04/13

From 635/80 in Mesquite

 

  • East on I-80
  • Exit Broad St
  • Continue on Broad St past Pinson signal light
  • Turn right on Bois De Arc, second signal light
  • Turn right on Trinity
  • Continue past dead end/gate
  • Follow gravel lane and cross railroad tracks

       Lane will stop at the range

 

 

 

 

 

This class will be taught by principal HiTS Instructors Wayne Dobbs and Darryl Bolke.

Course Topics:

Topics to be presented include:

 The Combat Triad of mindset, marksmanship and manipulations

  • Firearm safety considerations for the real world use of the tactical pistol
  • Hardwired responses with the service handgun, including real world marksmanship, mental preparation and handling skills techniques
  • The Two Seconds Standards, a new approach to street relevant pistol skills
  • Single and multiple threat engagement options
  • Tactical movement techniques
  • Assessments of individual skillsets and plans to improve those capabilities
  • Intensive drill work to “hardwire” the brain for responses needed for the student to prevail in street encounters…not just survive
 
Prerequisites
Students must be certified peace officers or active military personnel, in good standing with their agency. Students must be able to provide agency ID on the first day of class.
 
Required Equipment

Equipment List:

  • Reliable service pistol of 9mm or larger caliber
  • At least three functional magazines, with five or more being optional
  • Outside the waistband holster, preferably of Kydex type construction (No SERPA holsters, unless a mandated issue holster; NO inside the waistband holsters); LE officers are encouraged to use their duty rigs, whether uniform or plainclothes type
  • Magazine pouches to carry at least two magazines on the belt
  • A sturdy belt to support the holster and mag pouches without sagging or slipping
  • Optional: 10 dummy training rounds (not home fabricated reload type), such as ST Action Pro or similar
  • Eye and ear protection (electronic ear protection preferable if available)
  • Baseball type hat
  • Closed toed footgear
  • Clothing appropriate to the weather
  • Shorts are acceptable as long as they have loops that will accommodate the equipment bearing belt; no tank tops
  • Water, snacks, personal items to include a minor personal first aid kit (“owie” kit)
  • Note taking material
  • Good attitude and willingness to learn
  • 700 rounds of reliable ammunition (minimum)

The fee for the course is $300 for TTPOA members and $350 for non-members. All fees are due by January 28,2013. There will be no refunds for cancellations after January 28,2013.
